The Parish Council is involved in many community events and initiatives including provision of activities for young people during the school holidays, management of two allotment sites, providing festive lights, flowers and planters during the summer season, supporting local organisations with annual grant awards, consultation on planning applications including representation at Borough Planning Board Meetings etc.  A full list of the responsibilities of Town and Parish Councils is available on this website.

Currently, the Parish Council is engaged with the community in considering ways in which to celebrate the forthcoming Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.  A Footpaths Booklet detailing the Queen’s Jubilee Trail within Aldercar and Langley Mill is underway, which will provide a Heritage Walk detailing many areas of historical history within this community.  Further details will be provided in due course.
